Will There Be a 6th Twilight Movie? Fans Deserve the Truth

Is There Really Talk of Another Twilight Movie?
You’re not the only one wondering this. I literally had this convo with my cousin Jess last weekend while rewatching Breaking Dawn – Part 2 for the hundredth time (don’t judge us). She looked at me halfway through the final battle scene and said, dead serious: “I still feel like this story isn’t over.” And honestly? Same.
Every few months, rumors swirl. A reboot, a spin-off, maybe something based on Midnight Sun. But what’s real, and what’s just internet noise?
What We Know (and What We Don't)
No official 6th movie announced… yet
Let’s get this out of the way: there is no official confirmation of a sixth Twilight movie from Summit Entertainment or Lionsgate. As of now, there’s no greenlit project continuing Bella and Edward’s story on screen.
That said... it’s not totally dead. Lionsgate’s CEO, Jon Feltheimer, said back in 2017 they were “open” to more Twilight content — if Stephanie Meyer was on board. And since then? Crickets. But in Twilight world, silence doesn’t mean never.
Stephanie Meyer's Midnight Sun changed things
When Meyer finally released Midnight Sun in 2020 — basically Twilight retold from Edward’s POV — the fanbase exploded again. I remember reading it in one long, sleepless night and thinking, this is literally made for cinema. It’s darker, more intense, even slightly disturbing at times. So yeah, it sparked fresh hope.
But Meyer hasn’t confirmed any deal to adapt it. Frustrating, right?
Could a reboot or spin-off actually happen?
A full series reboot? Honestly, maybe
Look, Hollywood loves a reboot. Gossip Girl, Harry Potter (yep, they’re doing that too), even freaking Matilda got remade. Twilight’s 15-year-old by now. That’s like 100 in pop culture years.
A new cast, maybe even a series on Netflix or HBO Max (sorry, “Max” now ) — it could totally happen. Some fans say it would ruin the magic, but others (like me) are curious. Could be a mess. Could be amazing. I’m torn.
What about the Renesmee storyline?
Okay this is wild, but I went down a Reddit rabbit hole about this: some fans want a film about Renesmee and Jacob. Like a time jump thing. At first, I laughed. Then I thought, wait... there's potential. Exploring what it means to be half-human, half-vampire? That weird imprint bond with Jacob? There’s material there.
But would Kristen Stewart or Robert Pattinson ever return for that? Doubt it. Rob literally said he thought Twilight was “a weird fever dream”. So yeah… slim chance.
Why Fans Still Hold On (And Why That’s Okay)
Nostalgia never dies
Let’s be real. We grew up with this saga. Midnight premieres, Team Edward vs. Team Jacob debates, the soundtracks (oh God, the soundtracks). It’s not just a story. It’s a shared emotional memory. That’s why we want more — not because the original wasn’t enough, but because it meant something.
I’ll admit it: sometimes I listen to “A Thousand Years” and just feel things. And maybe that’s cheesy. But who cares?
There's still demand — and Hollywood knows it
Midnight Sun sold a crazy number of copies, and the old movies still rank high on streaming platforms. That tells studios one thing: we’re still here, and we’re still watching.
It might not happen next year. But long term? A return to Forks isn’t off the table.
So... will there be a 6th Twilight movie?
Right now? No.
In the future? There’s a chance.
I used to think Twilight was done for good — like, let it rest. But after rewatching the saga again (and yeah, crying at Breaking Dawn like it’s brand new), I changed my mind. Maybe the story isn’t over. Not really.
And even if it takes another decade… I’ll be ready. Probably still arguing about Team Jacob with Jess over coffee.
So hey, Stephanie — if you’re reading this? We’re waiting. Just saying.
